Vanilla Farmers Boosted with Climate Smart Vanilla Cultivation, Husbandry and Processing Training.

As the saying goes; "opportunity comes once and when you do, make sure you grab it with both hands."
This was exactly the situation for the vanilla farmers in Inokor, Asanokor, Imbanokor and Yombanokor villages under ward 1, 2, 4 and 5 of Kawanga LLG, Ambunti -Drekikier District, East Sepik Province.

Gaulma Agri Services in partnership with Snybichri_Gold and Women's Micro Bank was glad to be invited to serve them last week. Gaulma Agri Service's Director, Mr. Nanda Siri, a specialist in the Vanilla Industry in Papua New Guinea took time out in collaboration with partners to provide needed assistance to the farmers at their village. This was a testament of our 2days practical and interactive sessions.

# A total of 120 farmers brought in their 80cm vanilla vines and were treated. The first stage of treatment and propagation was done and vines planted the next day. 

# All 120 farmers totalling 5,770 vanilla vines treated and distributed according to the number of vines brought in by each farmer. Data was collected on number of existing vanillas was up to 7,448 current vanilla plants existing amongst the 120 farmers who came to treat their vanilla vines. 

# Mama Bank presence brought the bank to their door, more enlightening and boosting farmers confidence with their awareness of their products and services and opening of few bank accounts. 

# Other socio-economic data was collected and are kept for our monitoring and evaluation exercise after our training. 
  We will continue to provide this service upon requests from farmers in Greater Sepik Region and Papua New Guinea.
